Designer: George Gomez. A two-flipper Marvel game built around Battles, Quests, six Multiballs, and a deep combo/weapon economy. Rules are essentially identical across Pro/Premium/LE; the only rules-affecting edition difference is the Premium/LE Disco Loops variant of Disco Multiball.

Core loops

Multiballs (six)

Weapons, Ninja Stars, Chimichangas, BOOM

Multipliers

Skill shots (4 tiers)

Lane (BAM lane, 2.5M+), Super (hold left flipper → Katana ramp, 5M+), MXV (right orbit → ramp combo, 12.5M+), Super Secret (SNIKT → ramp, 15M + 1 Playfield X).

Wizard path

Two tracks converge: Quests + Sauron MB → Megakrakolodonus Rex (mini-wizard #1) and Level-2 Battles → Clone MB (mini-wizard #2). Completing both mini-wizards plus Mechsuit MB lights The Final Battle (Mr. Sinister) — the game's wizard mode.

How Deadpool plays

Deadpool is a fast, combo-hungry Stern about picking fights and stacking multipliers behind a wisecracking merc. Recruit Team-Up allies, win the villain Battles, and climb three mini-wizards to reach The Final Battle.

The loop

  1. Spell B-O-O-M across the return lanes, tapping a flipper to slide the lit lane toward the incoming ball, to arm the lockbar button for a free hit on your best lit shot.
  2. Finish the D-E-A-D targets to open a Battle at the center Scoop, recruit the Team-Up allies you want first, then start and end the villain there.
  3. Chain the major shots to light weapons, cash them at the Scoop for permanent Playfield X, and spike a temporary one with the SNIKT into the Katana ramp right before a big shot.
  4. Farm Ninja Stars off pop-lit blue shots and the right-orbit-into-Katana combo, then lock three balls at the Katana ramp for a fattened Ninja Multiball.
  5. Clear Sauron, then the Clone and giant-dinosaur mini-wizards, and play Mechsuit Multiball to qualify The Final Battle.

Reading the lights

  • B-O-O-M Return Lanes (lanes) — lit: The four return lanes spell B-O-O-M, and a lit lane is a letter you still need to finish the word. · then: Spell B-O-O-M and the lockbar button starts flashing with a free shot on it - one press takes the highest-value lit shot on the playfield, the Scoop aside. Bank a fourth BOOM and the button turns red for a Big Boom that collects every lit shot at once. · control: Either flipper button: tap a flipper button to slide the lit B-O-O-M lane across the inlanes and outlanes toward whichever return the ball is dropping into (as the ball comes back down toward the lanes)
  • BAM Top Lanes (lanes) — lit: One of the four top lanes shows a flashing BAM insert at any moment, and rolling the ball through the lit lane banks it toward the finished word. · flashing: The flashing insert marks the lane you have not yet rolled through. · then: Off the plunge, steering the insert and soft-plunging through it is the safe Lane Skill Shot, worth 2.5M plus a 250K bump that grows all game. Completing all four lanes raises the Bonus Multiplier, which resets every ball, so redo it each ball. · control: Either flipper button: tap a flipper button to move the flashing BAM insert to the lane you want, and off the plunge your pick is set the moment the ball trips the shooter-lane sensor (before you launch, and as the ball crosses the top lanes)
  • Villain Battles (mode) — lit: Completing the D-E-A-D targets lights a Battle at the Scoop, the Scoop also hands you one free Battle at the start of every ball, and only one Battle runs at a time. · then: Bank your Team-Up allies first, then start the villain at the Scoop, damage him on the lit shots, and take the Final Shot back at the Scoop within the closing window. Sabretooth is the gentle warm-up, while Juggernaut is the biggest and most dangerous fight on the machine.
  • Team-Up Allies (status) — lit: Four shots light for X-Men allies - Dazzler at the left orbit, Colossus at the U-Turn, Wolverine at the center spinner, Domino at the right orbit - and banking one carries its perk into your next fight. · then: Pick the ally that fits the plan - Dazzler adds health, Wolverine doubles damage - and bring it in before you start a Battle to turn a grind into a rout. These same four shots are Phase 1 of The Final Battle.
  • Weapons and Playfield X (multiplier) — lit: Chaining the major shots lights weapon inserts for a few seconds, while Playfield X runs from 1x up to 5x on top of them. · then: Feed your weapon strings into the Scoop to bank permanent Playfield X - each hundred weapons adds another multiplier for the rest of the game - and a running tally of forty-five earns Mechsuit Multiball. Just before a big scoring window, ricochet the SNIKT standup into the Katana ramp to spike a temporary multiplier, then pour jackpots under it.
  • Ninja Multiball (mode) — lit: Completing P-O-O-L lights a lock at the Katana ramp handle, and the locks are lit by default when the game begins. · flashing: During the multiball the Katana ramp flashes for the Super Jackpot once you have collected the round's jackpots. · then: Hoard Ninja Stars first - the right-orbit-into-Katana Ninjapocalypse dumps about ten at once - because jackpots scale with your banked star count, so a delayed start pays far more. Lock three balls, then keep returning to the Katana ramp to bank each Super Jackpot.
  • Lil' Deadpool Multiball (mode) — lit: Knocking down the OOF drop targets exposes the Lil' Deadpool standup, whose insert glows greener as you close in on the lock. · then: Hit the exposed standup to lock a ball behind the drops and start a cheap two-ball multiball with hurry-up jackpots. Start a Battle first and launch this over it, and its ball save carries you through the riskiest fights.

Lane change: the flipper buttons move the lit lane. Tap a flipper button to slide the lit B-O-O-M lane across the inlanes and outlanes toward the return the ball is dropping into, and roll through to bank that letter. Spell B-O-O-M and the lockbar button flashes with a free hit on the best lit shot; the top BAM lanes work the same way for the skill shot and Bonus Multiplier.

The BOOM Button on Deadpool

Center of the lockdown bar.

Deadpool's lockdown bar button is the BOOM button. Spell B-O-O-M in the return lanes — the flippers slide the lit lane toward wherever the ball is coming back — and the button starts flashing with a free shot waiting on it. One press takes the most valuable lit shot on the playfield, the scoop excepted.
