Terms of Service
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Pinball Genie, the website and companion apps operated by Pinball Genie LLC (the "Service"). By creating an account or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.
What the Service is
Pinball Genie is a study tool for real, physical pinball machines. It shows shot paths, rules, and goals for a catalog of machines so you can learn a machine before or between plays. Pinball Genie is an independent project. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Stern Pinball, Spooky Pinball, Chicago Gaming Company, or any other pinball manufacturer or theme/franchise rights holder.
Accounts
- One account is meant for one person. Don't share credentials or create accounts for other people without their knowledge.
- You're responsible for keeping your username and password confidential and for all activity that happens under your account.
- Tell us right away at admin@pinball-genie.com if you suspect your account has been accessed without your permission.
- We may suspend or terminate an account that we reasonably believe is being used to abuse the Service, other users, or these Terms.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Scrape, mirror, bulk-download, or resell the Service's content or data;
- Attempt to interfere with, disrupt, or gain unauthorized access to the Service or other users' accounts;
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in a way that infringes anyone else's rights;
- Reverse engineer or circumvent any access or rate-limiting controls we put in place.
Content
The instructional text, shot-path guides, and diagrams in Pinball Genie are original work written and drawn for this Service and are owned by Pinball Genie LLC. You may use them for your own personal study. You may not copy, scrape, republish, or resell them, or use them to build a competing product, without our written permission.
Trademarks
Pinball Genie displays the names of pinball machines and their manufacturers (for example, Stern Pinball, Spooky Pinball, Chicago Gaming Company, and others) as plain text, solely to identify the physical machines the Service provides study information for. These are the only names by which the machines are known to players, and we use no more than the name itself — no manufacturer logos, wordmarks, artwork, audio, or game code appear anywhere in the Service.
This use does not imply, and should not be read as implying, any affiliation with, sponsorship by, or endorsement from any pinball manufacturer or theme/franchise rights holder. Pinball Genie LLC is an independent publisher; all trademarks remain the property of their respective owners.
Advertising
Pinball Genie is a free, ad-supported service. See our Privacy Policy for what advertising runs today and what changes when a third-party ad network is introduced.
No warranty
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We don't guarantee the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that its content is complete or free of mistakes. Pinball machines get updated, rulesets change, and study content may lag behind a real machine's current software.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Pinball Genie LLC will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us for the Service in the twelve months before the claim, if any.
Copyright and abuse complaints
If you believe content on Pinball Genie infringes your copyright, or you want to report abuse of the Service, email dmca@pinball-genie.com (copyright) or abuse@pinball-genie.com (abuse) with enough detail for us to locate and evaluate the material.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms as the Service changes. If we make a material change, we will update the effective date above. Continuing to use the Service after a change takes effect means you accept the updated Terms.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Pinball Genie LLC is the counterparty to these Terms.
